CTI (News - Alert) Group announced that they’ve been included as a sample vendor in Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Communications Service Providers.
Gartner’s Hype Cycle is designed to identify technologies or applications that are expected to evolve over time, how those technologies offer new opportunities and are how they’re relevant to solving real-life business problems.
CTI Group (News - Alert), an international developer of solutions for mobile, fixed and converged carrier-grade telecommunications, is being recognized for their electronic payment options. Gartner (News - Alert) has identified the company in its Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment for Telecom Service Providers category.
According to the CTI Group’s press release, research suggests that communications service providers (CSPs) “should offer incentives to residential customers to encourage more of them to view and pay bills online.” They say that while mail-delivered paper bills are free, customers won’t see a need to switch to online-based statements. CTI Group’s statement also says research recommends offering electronic bill payments to corporations so they can “manipulate, disseminate and allocate cost centers electronically.”
CTI Group responded to this with by incorporating “SplitBill” into its core Analysis7 product. This allows businesses to break their bills down into personal and business calls, which can be tagged by call type and individualized for different departments as necessary. CTI Group notes that this makes it easier to identify where money is being spend within their communications costs.
President and CEO of CTI Group John Birbeck (News - Alert) said that the company has “over 20 years of experience in providing in-depth telecom billing analysis, communication recording and call accounting applications...SplitBill is a great example of providing a positive ROI for business customers using smartphones,” noting that SplitBill has saved one of their customers more than $1.5 million USD per year.
